Live Black-chinned Hummingbird Camera
There has been a Black-chinned Hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri) nest in this exact spot for the last four years. It's under the porch roof of the Starr Ranch bunkhouse. On or around May 4th, the female began repairing the remains of last year's nest with, among other items, the "fuzz" from the base of sycamore leaves and also spider webs. On May 7th she laid the first egg of a typical two egg clutch. Once her clutch is complete, the eggs should hatch in 17-19 days.
The hummingbird cam will be offline between 10PM PST/1AM EST and 2AM PST/5AM EST
Due to the need to conserve bandwidth, viewing will be provided in five minute increments. You may however, log back on immediately after your five minute session expires.
